The CDSC makes recommendations on the ongoing development of the Climate Data Utility and seeks input, ideas, and expertise from its members, advisors, and through outreach to relevant stakeholders. It will also build upon existing work by international bodies and relevant groups and consult with these organizations where appropriate.
The Climate Data Utility aims to integrate more regulatory disclosure data over time by partnering with jurisdictions that have such requirements. The Utility also seeks to explore collaborations with non-jurisdictional organizations as climate disclosure practices and requirements evolve.
Informed by user feedback, enhancements will be made to the Utility’s existing features in future releases. The Climate Data Utility Core Model is designed to evolve to reflect new and updated standards and jurisdictional requirements.
Future phases of the Climate Data Utility's development will work to address previously recommended data fields, including companies’ financed emissions reduction targets, carbon credits and associated metadata, and solutions for sectoral classification that meet the needs of various users, while also considering the potential for additional climate-related data fields in response to user feedback and the evolving climate data landscape.
